| MEDIA ALERT |
| Announcing the launch of the exclusive American Dental Implant Association |
| MIAMI, FL, November 1, 2008 -- The American Dental Implant Association announces its official launch today in conjunction with the launch of its website. The central mission of the organization is to encourage collaboration and communication among professionals from all areas of dentistry to improve industry standards, and advance practice and personal life. |
| The organization was founded by Dr. Arun K. Garg, founder of Implant Seminars, the world’s largest and most advanced dental continuing education company. Dr. Garg created American Dental Implant Association in response to overwhelming requests for more credentialing and credibility by establishing recognition models. |
| But far from having first emerged as a new credentialing organization, the American Dental Implant Association also aggressively promotes collegiality, friendship, and practice growth. |
“This is going to be the top forum for an exchange of a vast amount of niche information through annual symposiums of like-minded individuals to receive the latest information in the dental implant field, in a familiar, supportive community. Our main goal is to better serve our affiliate of well-trained clinicians,”
Said Dr. Garg. |
| The American Dental Implant Association’s Executive Director Fiorella Samaniego said “Each clinician may obtain the fellowship, mastership and diplomate status provided they meet the requirements for continuing education (CE) hours and pass a written examination”. Scheduling for exams is key, so awards can be given in a timely manner at the ceremonies, the first one being held at the annual symposium in April 24, 2009 in Miami, FL. |
| The American Dental Implant Association will also become an embedded feature of the scholarly publishing landscape. Members will receive an academic journal on dental implantology and those who demonstrate a genuine interest in establishing credibility through journals publishing and wish to contribute to the upcoming American Dental Implant Association publication are also welcome |
| “Credentialing and credibility go hand-in-hand,” said Dr. Garg. “We will offer our members myriad of ways to advance themselves and their careers. |

| Keystone Dental to Pay Nobel Biocare $2 Million to Settle Unfair Competition, Trade Secret Violations, and Tortious Interference Lawsuit |
| YORBA LINDA, Calif., Sept. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Nobel Biocare announced today it has reached a favorable settlement of a lawsuit brought against Keystone Dental, Inc., a dental implant company funded by the multi-billion dollar private equity firm Warburg Pincus, in the Superior Court of Connecticut. The settlement terms provide for Keystone Dental to pay $2 million to Nobel Biocare and that Keystone Dental not hire or solicit any current Nobel Biocare employee through February 1, 2009. Keystone Dental is also required to arrange for the collection and destruction of Nobel Biocare confidential and proprietary information in its or its employees' possession and represent that its employees will not use or disclose any marketing or sales materials licensed by and obtained from Nobel Biocare. |
| "Nobel Biocare stands for fair competition, but where competition crosses the line into illegality we will use all legal means to protect our proprietary information and trade secrets," stated Kevin Mosher, Vice President and General Manager of Nobel Biocare's North American business. Nobel Biocare filed its lawsuit in late 2007 claiming that Keystone Dental systematically targeted and hired Nobel Biocare's sales and marketing employees who represented a full cross-section of Nobel Biocare's business and sales force. According to Nobel Biocare's lawsuit, Keystone Dental, in an attempt to gain an unfair competitive advantage, deliberately aided and abetted those employees to breach their noncompetition and confidentiality agreements with Nobel Biocare. The lawsuit further alleged that Keystone Dental and some of its employees failed to return confidential and proprietary information belonging to Nobel Biocare and that they were unlawfully using and disclosing Nobel Biocare's information and trade secrets to develop competitive products for Keystone Dental and to induce customers to terminate their contractual or business relationships with Nobel Biocare. |
| Nobel Biocare's lawsuit alleged Uniform Trade Secrets Act and Connecticut's Unfair Trade Practices Act violations, unfair competition, breach of contract, civil conspiracy to commit the tort of conversion/ misappropriation, breach of fiduciary duties, breach of duty of loyalty, conversion, and tortious interference with contractual and business relations. The lawsuit sought injunctive relief and compensatory and punitive damages. |

Southern California Dentist First on the West Coast to Perform Concentrated Stem Cell Transplant for Dental Implant Procedure - Patient's Own Stem Cells to Be Harvested and Transplanted Into the Jaw to Generate Dense Bone Tissue for Permanent Dental Implantation |
| RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, Calif., March 18, 2009 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Jason Morgan needs a dental implant to restore his infectious grin, but to attach an implant would be difficult due to a lack of strong, healthy bone in his jaw. |
| Dr. Ivan Ho, a Southern California-based dentist and founder of Platinum Dental, will make Morgan's wish come true through the application of concentrated stem cell transplant technology. The first on the West Coast, and only second in the nation, to perform this innovative procedure, Dr. Ho will harvest and transplant stem cells from the patient's own bone marrow into the jawbone to create a dense bone structure to which a dental implant can be permanently set. |
| The outpatient procedure called Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentration (BMAC) will be the first conducted on the West Coast and will take place on Monday, March 23, 2009, at Platinum Dental in Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif. Used for many years by neurosurgeons and orthopedic surgeons to generate bone for procedures such as spinal and tibia fusions, Dr. Ho will apply the stem cell transplant procedure to dental applications to provide an option for patients who may not have previously been candidates for a tooth implant because of poor jawbone density. This is a minimally invasive and relatively painless outpatient procedure that takes between one and three hours to perform, providing faster healing, less pain and better results than other implant procedures. |
| "This minimally invasive procedure is an innovative, advanced long-term alternative to existing tooth replacement options such as dentures, bridges and even traditional bone grafting procedures," explained Dr. Ho. "In addition to providing better and faster healing, the transplantation of the patient's own stem cells enables the body to increase bone growth in the jaw through Angiogenesis to permanently support the dental implant. Because the use of dentures and bridges carry a high risk of problems in many cases resulting in gum disease, tooth decay and the loss of viable teeth, additional costly surgical procedures are necessary, where dental implants are the most natural solution and provide the best long-term results." The innovative process involves the harvesting of stem cells through a small incision in the hip bone the morning of the procedure. Using a centrifuge, Dr. Ho will isolate and concentrate the stem cells from the plasma and transplant them into Morgan's jaw and will then add an allograft. The stem cells will work with the surrounding tissue to eventually generate healthy, dense bone tissue to which the dental implant can be permanently attached. |

AAID Hails Florida Court Verdict Allowing Advertising of Bona Fide Dental Credentials |
| CHICAGO, April 8, 2009 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- A Florida judge has ruled that a state law restricting how dentists can advertise credentials issued by bona fide professional organizations is unconstitutional and violates the First and Fourteenth Amendments of the US Constitution. The American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) said today the verdict is a victory for consumers evaluating the qualifications and experience of dentists who perform implant procedures and for practitioners entitled to promote their credentials to the public. |
| "We are very pleased with this decision recognizing the rights of dentists with bona fide credentials to advertise them to the public without negative disclaimers and offer consumers valid information from which they can evaluate qualifications of dentists in their communities," said AAID President Beverly Dunn, DDS. "Also, the decision noted that AAID and other dental organizations provide substantial training that enhances proficiency and competency and benefits consumers as well." At issue was a Florida statute preventing advertising of membership in or credentials earned from any dental organization not recognized by the Florida Board of Dentistry (FDB). Florida's dental board only recognizes specialty credentials issued by the American Dental Association (ADA). Therefore, implant dentists who wanted to advertise their AAID credentials had to include an onerous disclaimer that implant dentistry is not a recognized specialty of ADA or the FDB and that AAID is not a recognized specialty accrediting organization. |
| The case stemmed from multiple challenges to the constitutionality of the Florida statute by dentists with credentials from AAID, the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Circuit Court Judge Frank E. Sheffield ruled in favor of the plaintiffs on April 3. |
"The Court found that these advertising restrictions were unconstitutional on many grounds. They violated the Florida constitution's guarantee of the right to be rewarded for industry or professional achievement and First and Fourteenth Amendment rights of free speech and equal protection of the law," said Frank.
R. Recker, DDS, JD, AAID's chief counsel. |
| Dunn added that the Florida decision establishes a strong precedent that could form the basis for challenging advertising restrictions in other states, if necessary. "Demand for dental implants is rising, and more dentists need comprehensive training to become highly skilled at implant procedures," said Dunn. "Attending a weekend course isn't enough. There is a higher level of risk with the procedure if the dentist has limited experience." AAID offers a rigorous implant dentistry credentialing program which requires at least 300 hours of post-doctoral instruction in implant dentistry, passing a comprehensive exam, and presenting to a group of examiners successful cases of different types of implants. It is one of the most comprehensive credentialing programs in dentistry. |
| AAID can help consumers find a local credentialed implant dentist at www.aaid.com. AAID is based in Chicago and has more than 3,500 members. It is the first organization dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of implant dentistry by supporting research and education to advance comprehensive implant knowledge. |

Dental Implant Market to Exceed $1 Billion by 2013 Despite Current Economic Slowdown |
Growing preference for procedures that offer improved aesthetic results will help drive the dental implant market from 2010-2013, according to Millennium Research Group
WALTHAM, Mass., March 30 /PRNewswire/ -- According to Millennium Research Group's (MRG's) new US Markets for Dental Implants 2009 report, although the current economic crisis is resulting in lower procedural growth in the short term, the US dental implant market will recover after 2010 and exceed $1 billion by 2013.
As a result of the slumping economy, patients are less likely to invest in dental implant procedures, and some are opting instead for less expensive alternatives, such as crowns and bridges. Because of this retrenchment, dentists are now buying smaller volumes of dental implant products, reflecting the decline in appointments. With economic recovery expected to begin in 2010, however, market growth will be stimulated by preference for minimally invasive procedures that offer improved aesthetic results and boast shorter treatment lengths. Renewed procedure growth will be facilitated through the use of custom-milled abutments, two-piece small-diameter dental implants, and guided surgery technology.
"The growing population of general practitioners (GPs) placing dental implants will also lead to steady market growth, particularly with small-diameter implants that are easier to place and less invasive," says Poonam Jassi, Senior Analyst at MRG. "More GPs will learn to place dental implants because of the profit potential compared to alternative treatments, driving this market into 2013."
MRG's US Markets for Dental Implants 2009 report provides coverage of key industry competitors, including Astra Tech, Bicon Dental Implants, BioHorizons, BIOMET 3i, Dentsply, Implant Direct, IMTEC, Keystone Dental, Nobel Biocare, Straumann, Zimmer Dental, and many more.
